What Navigate Vibes Is
Navigate Vibes is a free, AI-assisted music catalogue — released under two artist personas, IZANAMI and IZANAGI — operated by Navigate Japan Limited ("NJL", "we", "us"), a New Zealand company. These terms govern your use of the tracks made available through navigatejapanltd.com/navigate-vibes-home and our official channels on third-party platforms.
Accepting These Terms
By using a Navigate Vibes track in your own content, you agree to these terms. There's no account or sign-up required — using the music is how you accept them.
The Licence We Grant You
Every track is free to use in your own content — videos, streams, podcasts, and social posts — with no royalty or licensing fee from us. This applies to monetised content too.
We ask only that you don't:
- Resell or re-upload the tracks themselves as standalone music.
- Claim a track as your own original composition.
- Use a track in a way that's unlawful, defamatory, or promotes hatred or violence.
This licence is non-exclusive, worldwide, and doesn't expire — but it isn't a transfer of ownership. See Section 5.
AI-Assisted Composition
Every track begins with AI-assisted composition, shaped by human curation — selecting, sequencing, and refining until it belongs in the catalogue. We disclose this openly because some platforms require it, and because we think you should know what you're using.
Ownership and Intellectual Property
Section 5(2)(a) of New Zealand's Copyright Act 1994 provides that a computer-generated work — one generated by computer where there is no human author — is copyrightable, with the author being "the person by whom the arrangements necessary for the creation of the work are undertaken." On that basis, NJL is likely the author of the Navigate Vibes catalogue under New Zealand law.
This isn't the same everywhere
Under current United States Copyright Office guidance, purely AI-generated work without meaningful human authorship isn't copyrightable at all. Much of our streaming audience is outside New Zealand, so the strength of our underlying rights genuinely varies by country. That's part of why the licence in Section 3 is so generous — we're not relying on strong, uniform global rights to make this catalogue useful to you.
Track titles, the IZANAMI and IZANAGI names, and Navigate Vibes branding remain ours regardless of jurisdiction.
Third-Party Platforms
Streaming or using our tracks through Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok, or any other platform is also governed by that platform's own terms of service. If a platform's rules are stricter than ours for a particular use, its rules apply on that platform.
Business and Brand Collaborations
The general licence in Section 3 covers personal and commercial content use. It does not cover formal brand partnerships, sponsorships, or bespoke licensing arrangements — those are handled through a separate written agreement. If you're a business interested in this, please get in touch.
No Warranty, Limited Liability
Navigate Vibes is provided free of charge and "as is." We don't guarantee that tracks will always be available, that the catalogue won't change, or that it's fit for any particular purpose.
To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, NJL isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the catalogue, including any claim that content you created using our tracks infringes someone else's rights.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as Navigate Vibes grows — particularly as the cross-border copyright position in Section 5 is clarified with legal advice. The version number and date at the top of this page always reflect the current version. Continued use of the catalogue after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing Law and Contact
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
